About
Property management should not need a back office.
Rentier is a small team in California building an AI property manager that does the work, not another dashboard that lists it.
Why we exist
Software gave managers a to-do list.
Every property platform built in the last fifteen years does the same thing: it stores your data and hands the work back to you. Rent still has to be chased. Vendors still have to be called. The bank feed still has to be reconciled by a person on a Friday afternoon.
We started Rentier because that work is now something a machine can do well, and because the people who own a fourplex and a strip mall should not need a bookkeeper, a leasing agent and a maintenance coordinator to keep them running. One AI employee, with the judgment to ask before it matters, is enough.
What we believe
Three rules we build by.
Do the work, do not describe it
A notice that is drafted but not sent is still your job. Russell finishes things.
Ask when it matters
Money, signatures and legal notices always wait for you. Everything else runs and is logged.
One account for the whole portfolio
A house, a fourplex and an office building have different rules. They should not need different software.
“Fire the back office. Keep the results.”
Our mission, and the first line on our site since day one.
The team
Small on purpose.
We are a handful of engineers and one former property manager, based in Sacramento and San Diego. We answer support ourselves.
